Launched the Minute4Peace initiative which aimed to reduce crime globally by conducting mass meditations around the world in parallel. In 2014, just after 2 years of launching the program, it crossed over 1 billion minutes of meditation.
Scientific studies showed reduced crime rate after participation in the meditation and completion techniques. In a scientific research in 1976, it was found that when 1% of a community practiced meditation (pujas) the crime rate was reduced by 16% on average.^[9]

Kumbh Mela for world peace – in September 2006 His Divine Holiness organized the first confluence for world peace to honor the memory of those who lost their lives saving others on September 11, 2001, at Irvine, California, USA. The second confluence for peace was held in Los Angeles in 2007 in collaboration with Vedanta Society, BAPS, ISKCON, Siddha Yoga and other organization. The Kumbh Mela festival spread fast to other countries including Australia, Canada, etc.
In 2009, His Divine Holiness organized month-long Peace Walk covering 1000 km and 1000 villages, to bring together in harmony from all walks of life, to promote feeling connection and Oneness among people. During the walk health camps were conducted in villages along its path.
International Peace Day – His Divine Holiness has conducted large-scale collective meditations on September 21st International Peace Day, to raise the collective consciousness and awareness of peace.
His Divine Holiness’s organizations have been providing micro-financing to people below the poverty line enabling them to take up self-employment, supporting over 1000 indigenous ethnic minority families with free food, education and employment in their traditional field of expertise, supporting over 100 social welfare youth groups financially to inspire them to contribute at a grassroots level.
Worship (Pujas, Homas, and Meditations) – Employing powerful mass worship as a means to realizing collective peace and harmony. Young monks of the Nithyananda Order conduct mass fire rituals involving the public thereby creating profound healing energy for a peaceful mind and healthy body in those living in the surrounding areas.

SPIRITUAL SCIENTIST EMPOWERING HUMANITY

His Divine Holiness has been successively conducting a host of Yoga and Meditation programs, grounded on the insights and revelations from the VedaAgama, that are His own direct experiences (atma pramana). Through direct transmission of energy (initiation or Deeksha), over hundred thousand people have experienced the possibilities of a Superconscious breakthrough.
His Divine Holiness as a Jagatguru (Guru for the whole world) is awakening all types of people, irrespective of ethnicity, culture or background, to their ultimate human possibilities; enlightening them with Powerful Cognitions and empowering them with Powers.

SPIRITUAL RESEARCHER & SCIENTIST

Research conducted by doctors at the Integris Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Center at Oklahoma, USA acknowledged supernormal brain activity and control in His Divine Holiness’s brain. This study was referred to by famous TV anchor Brian Williams in his speech at the Morning Star Center for Spiritual Living in Norman, Oklahoma in
2009, when he said, “here we can see the template for the mental and spiritual state we aspire to fully organized neurological activity, expanded use of the higher brain center, and the ability to consciously transition from one level of amplitude to another.”
Conducted research on the effect of Kundalini Awakening on human cells; discovered that the Mitochondria count in participants initiated by His Divine Holiness, and those who participated in the 21-day Inner Awakening program increased by 1300%.
Controlled gene ontology study and gene pathway analysis was done in 2011 with Inner Awakening participants revealed a seven-fold increase in pathways related to Immune modulation, inflammation, hypoxia regulation, etc. and 420 up-regulated and 165 down-regulated entities have been demonstrated, showing that Inner Awakening can alter genetic makeup positively and significantly. Previous studies done by Harvard showed such changes in gene activation of meditators, but that study required 8 weeks of meditation compared to 3 weeks for Inner Awakening.
Other medical research conducted on Inner Awakening participants in 2012 has shown that 70-100% of the participants exhibit a significant reduction in problems like chronic fatigue & pain, eating disorder, depression, asthma, allergies, etc.
In September 2011, researchers studied the phenomenon of materialization and kundalini awakening using whole-body CT scan and QEEG machine and scientifically validated (1) that the brain waves change significantly from alpha to delta waves during kundalini awakening, and (2) verified that materialization of objects indeed can be recorded on the CT scan.
QEEG studies conducted by neurologists showed that during kundalini awakening the brain waves changed in a way that may increase focus, awareness, improve memory, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Effect of meditation on homicide and crime rate
In 1960, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi predicted that one percent of a population practicing the TM technique would produce measurable improvements in the quality of life for the whole population. This phenomenon was first documented in scientific research in 1976 when it was found that when 1% of a community practiced Transcendental Meditation, the crime rate was reduced by 16% on average. At this time, the phenomenon was named the Maharishi Effect. The meaning of this term was later extended to cover the wider influence generated by group practice of the TM-Sidhi program. Generally, the Maharishi Effect may be defined as the influence of coherence and positivity in the social and natural environment generated by the practice of the TM and TM-Sidhi programs.
