When we look at the orchestrated attack on His Divine Holiness Paramhamsa Nithyananda and his adheenam (ashram) carried out by the mass media, it seems to be quite evident that our print and electronic media are capable of colluding together to manufacture salacious “pseudo-events”. The common prefix “pseudo” comes from the Greek word meaning false or intended to deceive. The strategized religious persecution Paramahama Nityananda by the mass media in subterranean collusion with many national and international Illuminati of Anti-Hindu forces should be categorized and castigated as a “pseudo-event”.
In this article, we will analyse the how a media Giant “Times Group” sensationalized the ‘fake video controversy’ by unethical Journalism. There existed reasonable evidence that the entire operation, from the moment the news hit TV to the sensational follow-up, had been conducted with the fine precision typical of a well thought-out and strategically planned attack and the its national daily made every possible attempts to distorted the news related to His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda. The irony of the whole affair is that this guerrilla warfare was launched against a fledgling organization which had neither the resources nor the professional expertise to deal with the consequent crisis.
The Times of India (TOI) is an Indian English-language daily newspaper owned by The Times Group. It is the fourth-largest newspaper in India by circulation and largest selling English-language daily in the world according to Audit Bureau of Circulations (India). According to latest readership data for 2017 released by IRS, The Times of India leads English dailies, ahead of the No. 2 publication Hindustan Times by a huge margin. The total readership (last one month) of ToI stands at 1,30,47,000 while HT recorded a TR of 68,47,000.
Above statistics is to prove that the extent to which the false reporting for vested interests have tarnished the image of His Divine Holiness Paramhamasa Nithyananda.
Print media has a responsibility in reporting what is right. However, it has got beguiled by the prospect of a sensational headline, it can be all too easy for a reporter or editor to give publicity to a story when they suspect or indeed know that it comes from an unreliable source. Reporting every false statement ends up rewarding lies with publicity.
It is almost disgusting to even associate these criminals charges with our Gurus whom we have been revering as Gods. Illuminati of Anti Hindu forces have time and again attempted to suppress all the powerful influential Hindu Voices. Sex is used to fabricate stories to assassinate their character to create moral and religious panic among masses. No substantiated evidence was produced to establish the truth of the claim made in the news reported. Are we slave to the paid media and their vested interest.?
Instance 1
I was in a trance when video was recorded: Swami Nithyananda
The Times of India, March 14, 2010
This statement was never spoken by the Paramahamsa Nithyananda. This is clearly a case of sentimentalization and severe misrepresentation of His Divine Holiness Paramhamsa Nithyananda’s statements and twisting them to make juicy headlines which grossly violated all journalism ethics. These ridiculous news is circulated with the intensity as if national emergency or calamity had occurred.
Instance 2:
I’m not a man, Nithyananda told CID sleuths.
The Times of India, April 30, 2010
In this article the statement “I am not a man” is purposely highlighted and mockingly sensationalized. It was purposely done to attack his dignity, ridicule and make a mockery out of him. It is beyond the concept of Male or Female. It is beyond gender. CID was afraid doing a medical test on Swami Nithyananda would reveal his yogic body which in biological terms is called ‘impotence’. Unfortunately, a His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda is facing the consequence of spiritually empowering humanity. It is unfortunate that in today’s Black Age the enlightened physiology is not understood.
Instance 3
The Times of India, March 14, 2010
Yes, It was me: Nityananda
What Nithyananda actually said was that he had been misrepresented in the video. If somebody were to take a video of you or me, distort it using graphics or in other ways and flash it on TV, would we be wrong in saying that we were present in the video, but had been grossly misrepresented through graphics? Aren’t both these statements true?
Truth behind Times Group
Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd, which owns the Times of India, is reported to have asked celebrities and the wealthy to pay for favorable coverage. They have offered a “private treaty” agreement, which accepts an equity stake in a company in return for favorable coverage. The New York Times described “private treaties” as an example of the commodification of business news. A New Yorker article says that the Times of India “have been dismantling the wall between the newsroom and the sales department” with Times MediaNet.
Some groups have criticized paid news including Bloomberg, who claimed that “paid news was rotting India’s democracy.” The Analytic Monthly Review has also criticized India’s media problems to well known problems in the political economy after the adoption of neo-liberal policies.
In 2010, a two person panel of the Press Council of India investigated the phenomenon of paid news in India. This resulted in a detailed 72 page report citing names and instances where information that had been paid for had been passed off as genuine news. However, the Press council rejected their findings and published a shorter watered down version of the report.
While the crisis in the media has been talked about at length, a recent sting operation by CobraPost is definitive proof of just how deep and wide the rot is. ‘Operation 136’ — named after India’s rank of 136 in the World Press Freedom Index 2017 — sent an undercover journalist to a number of publications, several of which agreed to push communal reports for cash, without raising a bill. CobraPost has released part 1 of the sting, which implicates 17 media outlets that agreed to publish the stories put forth by the journalist which clearly points out ‘Times Group’.
The World Economic Forum was established in 1971 as a not-for-profit foundation in Geneva, Switzerland. It aims to be independent, impartial and not tied to any special interests. On 16 Jan 2017, The World Economic Forum tweeted a screenshot of a survey showing Indian media as the second most corrupt media.
The media has been overly eager to condemn His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, while the fact is that no case against him has been proved in court. Is this not a completely unwarranted and deliberate process of character-assassination?
Hinduism has witnessed organised religious persecution as a part of criminal cultural genocide. It hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus which they cherished for their Gods, Goddess and Gurus. Whenever any influential Hindu Guru has risen up and influenced the masses to empower and spiritually elevate the humanity, he has been brutally attacked and all possible abominable efforts by most inhuman degrees were placed to defame them; Kanchi Shankaracharya, Osho, Sri Aurobindo, Swami Vivekananda are some of Hindu Gurus, to name a few.
Whenever any Hindu Guru attempted to introduce Hinduism as a scientific lifestyle to achieve superconscious breakthrough to empower Hindus, consolidated conspired attempts were made by Media to squash them. Literally, Hinduism has gone through a conscious rape of its very identity by going through character-assassination of Hindu gurus.
