After 5 long years, the Chennai Crime Branch CID filed the chargesheet against the conspirators of Paramahamsa Nithyananda, reporting the results of the 5-year investigation in the case of conspiracy and extortion done on Him.
In 2010, a major conspiracy against His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda unfolded. Several anti-Hindu forces including Lenin Karuppan, Arathi Rao, Sun TV executives, and tabloid Nakkeeran editors colluded together to morph a video of Paramahamsa Nithyananda with a Tamil actress, Ms. Ranjitha, in an attempt to blackmail Him. They threatened Him with cooked up rape charges and when He could not be shaken, they proceeded to file them. The years that followed were filled with never-ending legal battles.
Finally, in 2015, the CBCID filed the chargesheet against Lenin and his co-conspirators. The 250 page chargesheet registered before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chennai charging the eight accused including Lenin Karuppan, Arathi Rao, Sun TV executives and tabloid Nakkeeran editors under Sections 341, 342, 392, 323, 420 and 506(2) IPC@120B, 384, 385, 386, 392, 342 and 109 r/w 385 IPC, Section 67 r/w 67A IT Act 2000 and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act 1998 and Section 3 and 4 r/w 6 of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986. The charges, which include criminal conspiracy, extortion, robbery, cheating, criminal intimidation, and the indecent representation of women in the morphed video, have been filed by the investigating police before the Hon’ble Magistrate who has taken cognizance of the same.
The chargesheet reveals the appalling details of the scandalous conspiracy by accused Lenin with his accomplice Arathi Rao, Sun TV executives including the then COO Hansraj Saxena and Ayyappan, and editors of Tamil tabloid Nakeeran Gopal and Kamaraj.
The accused used the morphed video to demand a whole sum of 100 crores extortion money and 2 most prime properties from Paramahamsa Nithyananda and Ranjitha to prevent the morphed video from being telecast over Sun TV and printed in tabloid Nakkeeran. The blackmail and threats included a threat of filing a false rape charge on Paramahamsa Nithyananda by the accused Arathi Rao. The extortion, robbery, and conspiracy starting from 2009 continued for two years till 2011 as further demands were made and the rape charge was filed by the accused against Paramahamsa Nithyananda at Bangalore, Kerala, Chennai and other places in Tamil Nadu.
The baseless, illogical allegations of Aarthi Rao state that she was sexually assaulted for a period of six years at various places in India and abroad without her consent.
Excerpts of the FIR:
“First, Lenin connected Ms. Aarthi Rao and she threatened saying “If you people do not pay the full amount, I will put rape charge against Swami and send all of you inside the jail”. Then Lenin connected Mr.Kamaraj, and Rajagopal @ Nakkheeran Gopal, both of them threatened that if we failed to pay the amount, he would publish the morphed video and photographs in Nakkheeran magazine and Nakkheeran website.”
Both the police as well as the Courts saw the gravity of the crimes in which Lenin and Aarthi among others were involved. This is seen from the subsequent rejection of Anticipatory Bail application of Lenin even by the Apex Court of India. The FIR has since been chargesheeted by the police on 2 March 2015.
The Hon’ble High Court of Madras has directed a further investigation to be done in the case relating to an investigation in unveiling the conspiracy.
