Through media outlets such as Times of India, anti-hindu forces that were intimidated by the appointment of His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda threatened that they will give ten days time limitation to revoke the appointment otherwise they will take legal action. Pontiffs of other aadheenams who had been heavily influenced and pressured by anti-hindu forces allied together against the 292nd Pontiff of the Madhurai Aadheenam for making a decision without consulting them.
However in a press meet responding to these forces, the 292nd Pontiff clarified that he had called each and every one of them with the intention to explain the truth but they each rejected the request to meet and discuss this decision. On top of this, the aadheenams all abused both the 292nd Pontiff and His Divine Holiness in the media.
In the final response to these opposing aadheenams, devotees of His Holiness unanimously replied that if the statements are not repealed, they will take legal action against each of them.

Times of India and other media channels telecasted news that the 292nd Pontiff of Madurai Aadheenam (a temple and monastery complex in South India) “has appointed the controversial Guru” Paramahamsa Nithyananda as the 293rd Pontiff and successor of Madurai Aadheenam. When the heads of other organizations heard this news, they became angry, and rallied together to oppose the decision. They were not ready to accept someone “controversial” as the head of the most ancient and traditional Shaivite Hindu organization, and felt in a misguided way that it was their duty to bar his succession. Despite the uproar against him, Paramahamsa Nithyananda visited Madurai, where the 292nd Gurumahasanidhanam gave his blessings and a 6 foot long, gold coated Sengol (ruling staff) as a sign of continuous confidence in him.
The senior pontiff praised Paramahamsa Nithyananda for his enlightening and poetic speech, and also declared that legally ‘Nithyananda is the 293rd Gurumahasannidhnam of Madurai Adheenam,’ and bestowed upon him the honorific new title ‘Sri La Sri Paramahamsa Nithyananda Gnansambandha Desika Paramacharya Swamigal.’ All the rights of Madurai Aadheenam, including the worship, was conferred to him. “He will do this work perfectly. Madurai Aadheenam has property worldwide, around 1500 acres. Hereafter, Nithyananda will be managing the entire Property.”
The news continues…
Madurai Aadheenam is the one of the oldest ancient mutts of India; it’s so ancient, in fact, that nobody knows when, exactly, the lineage started. It’s on record that 1500 years ago, a great Shaivaite called Thirujnanasambandar, one of the 64 Nayanmar saints, revived the institution. That it was so old that it’s revival happened over a millenia ago makes it’s antiquity indisputable. In this great adheenam, Muthamiz Valartha Sangam (an ancient organization of saints and sages) was established.
Sun TV included in it’s news broadcast about the coronation a repetition of the abusive, morphed video it had circulated two years earlier, allegedly showing Paramahamsa Nithyananda in bed with a South Indian actress. “If one has to be selected as a chairman, there shouldn’t be any legal cases against him, there should be no question about his adherence to the monastic life, he should have complete knowledge about Shaivisim, an indisputable good character, right culture, proper behaviour, valiant action, proper opinions, future vision, and should have the capacity to guide others.” By segueing into this with the morphed video footage, they implied that he lacks these qualities, though it is because he possesses these great qualities that he was chosen.
‘Ten Days is deadline. Withdraw the abusal statement. My devotees are waiting to take legal action.’ – His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda in his reply to the threats of other leaders
The translation of the Tamil press meet on April 30, 2012, reads below:
“You all must have heard, some of the other Adheenam heads have grouped together in Mayiladudurai and gave a press meet. About that press meet: the guru mahasannidhanam of Madurai Aadheenam 292, and I, myself, as 293, have prepared our response. We both respect, revere and bow down to all the senior sannidhanams. We have asked them for an appointment to share our side of the story. Even if it means driving 6 hours, we both agreed to come and meet them personally, but they have rejected our requests.” Paramahamsa Nithyananda stated.
“Not only that, they even said point blank that they don’t want to face Nithyananda,” adds the 292nd Pontiff. “So I have replied, saying, ‘okay, fine, then at least talk with me and I’ll explain. First, I told my secretory to call Dharmapura Aadheenam, then I myself called, but he did not answer the call when he saw my number. We also called Thirupanthal Madadipathi, but he also did not answer. In spite of this, what I have told to Ramakrishna is this: even if you guys don’t want to meet us directly, at least send your representatives; I am ready to explain myself to them. They avoided all sorts of communications and are simply not ready to listen. Even in a murder case, we will give the man convicted a chance to explain his side; but by naming the one I deem most fit as my successor, due to prejudice against him, I am to be silenced! Is this fair? They have never given a chance to either of us to explain. They themselves have gathered false facts and come to the conclusion that both of us are unqualified. This is so hurtful for us. I am not demanding an apology, I am only saying, it’s so hurtful, because from childhood I have grown up under these sanidhanams, revered and even worshipped them. In this circumstance, it’s so painful that even our basic rights are not respected and they are callously abusing both of us.”
“Now I will share their abuses,” adds Paramahamsa Nithyananda. “They have said, ‘Nithyananda does not belong to Saiva Velaalar community.’ I was born and raised in Tiruvannamalai in a Saiva Velaalar community; for witness, my entire extended family has come forward to the media, so pained by the accusation, to vouch for me, that I am a part of their community. I don’t have any option to come forth in front of the media myself, so they went as my representatives; I would happily sit in person to give the explanation myself, but my offer was rejected. Because they have spoken about me so abusively, my devotees from all over the world they are ready to give complaint. In 5 section – 1. criminal conspiracy, 2.500, 501 3. Communal violence 4.153 AB 5. 295 A. So all my devotees individually are ready to file a complaint. I am giving 10 days time for the Aadheenams to take back their statements against me. Otherwise, within 10 days, my devotees have decided they will assemble in front of Dharmapura Aadheenam where they will do continuous protest without eating, and I cannot stop them.”
