On 12 March 2013, the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka disposed of the petition WP 10815/2011 filed by Pushpa, against being denied justice by the police in her complaint against Mr. Lenin Karuppan filed on 30 December 2010, on charges of rape, extortion and threat to kill her. The police, however, had closed the case with a perfunctory investigation which included just asking Mr. Lenin whether he was there at the time of the incident. Pushpa took up this grievance of outright being denied justice to the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka where she filed a writ petition WP 10815/2011.
The Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka had heard the petition last week and directed the police to come to respond in person to the Court on 12 March 2013. The police thereafter registered the complaint and FIR in Cr. No. 0077/2013 at Bidadi Police Station, on 11 March 2013, for various offences under Sections 511, 506, 376, 384,342, 354 of IPC, and Section 3(10) of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Here is the copy of the FIR.
What Media reported:
Media rubbished the case altogether saying that A Pushpa alias Ma Nithya Supriyananda a devotee, could be an “instrument” to malign Lenin who in a sting operation, had exposed Nithyananda’s romp with a Tamil actress.
