DNA is the second most-read English broadsheet in Mumbai with 506,000 readers in Mumbai alone; ranked as sixth among the top ten English dailies in India. So the pivotal role and influence played by this journal in shaping public opinion is undeniable.
In the scenario, when a fake morphed video was created and released to defame His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda, the victimized spiritual community constantly fought for justice at the court. Providing ample evidence to prove innocence of His Divine Holiness, while the media continued to character assassinate Him and His spiritual mission by broadcasting false, manipulated content – in effect attempting to destroy His public image and the sacredness and legitimacy of Hinduism.
Referring to false claims made by chief conspirator of the morphed video, Lenin Karuppan, the journal uses atrocious language in defaming Paramahamsa Nithyananda. This is direct attempt at character assassination. It can only be out of vested interests that a journal would publish an article based on the words of a criminal, proven to have been making false statements and broadcasting obscene content.
The article directly attacks the dignity of Hindu Gods, hurting sacred sentiments of not just devotees of Paramahamsa Nithyananda but all Hindus at large. Fabricated lies in comparing to Lord Krishna, are only aimed at maligning Hindu tradition, practices and beliefs. Knowing clearly the impact the article can cause on open or vulnerable minds, this article is creating public hate towards Paramahamsa Nithyananda who is an icon and representative of Hindu tradition. The attack on Him is not limited to Him and His spiritual mission alone, but impacts Sanatana Hindu Dharma as well. The conspired agenda is to annihilate Paramahamsa Nithyananda and in so doing quieten the voice working tirelessly to revive Sanatana Hindu Dharma in Bharat (India).
