Doctored content, fake alerts and sensationalized messages are all it takes to fuel mass suspicion of strangers and propel mobs to brutally attack innocents. These forwards, of blood-thirsty gangs of kidnappers, thieves or dacoits, spread mainly via Whats App and Facebook, using morphed images to create fear psychosis. Mob Lynching has recently become the preferred tool for carrying out planned assassination where the identity of the assassin is anonymized as the ‘mob.

In this article Deccan Chronicle reports that there are more sleazy videos coming. This report was without any proof or witness. Although the newspaper claimed that the source of the information is authentic, it is clear that it was either an attempt to encash on the ongoing controversy in the name of Yellow Journalism or was a deliberate attack on social image of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. This article is written to exploit vulnerable readers by feeding them with sensational news thereby grabbing their attention for ulterior motives.
It is alarming that this fabricated article came from the second biggest English daily, Deccan Chronicle in Karnataka with a readership of around 8 lakhs. Not only it was insensitivity towards the readers but also towards the two public figures; a young and popular spiritual leader and a celebrity woman. Not even a benefit of doubt was considered while writing them off. Shockingly, similar approach is taken by major national and regional dailies. On deeper contemplation, there seems to be more to it then just sensational and baseless headlines. Deccan Herald like many other newspapers is being misused as a medium to execute the bigger agenda of Hindu militant mafia.
The strategy which they seem to have adopted is incessant attacks using mainstream media, thereby blatantly violating clause (2) of Article 19 of Constitution of India which defines the restrictions in freedom of Speech (and Press).
Indian Hindus have a history of 2000 years of religious persecution. Whenever a strong spiritual force has stood as a new promise for Sanatana Hindu Dharma, all the attempts have been made to ensure silencing it. His Divine Holiness Paramahamsa Nithyananda has risen as one such promise for Sanatana Hindu Dharma in last few years. His growing popularity and healing powers have attracted not only downtrodden but elite and educated class of seekers. If we analyse the phenomenal growth of Paramahamsa Nithyananda in last 7 years then it is quite obvious that this young Spiritual leader has divine charisma to take Sanatana Hindu Dharma to masses in its full glory, the way Swami Vivekananda did in 19th century. No wonder, he became a major threat for Hindu terrorist militant forces.
The current conditions of the Indian media have become such that there is no reporting, researching, investigating. There is no responsibility, no refinement, no intellectualism. It is simply another establishment to harbor local mafia to meet their own agendas. In this case it is to destroy the Guru- Shishya parampara (Guru- Disciple heritage) and all who work to revive and promote it. Deccan Herald needs to take ownership for contributing in character assassination of the public image of Paramahamsa Nithyananda.
